Today is the time to add a blog article. This weekend I attended a vendor event, because a gal from church wrote a book and I wanted to support her and buy one. I thought, wow, to write a book. I have a hard time keeping up with the blog, obviously. So here I am, blogging. The book she wrote is in a genre I have not read, at least in my adult life. I will try and read it soon, so when I see her at church, I can give her an honest assessment. I usually read motivational books, and books that will teach me something. I don't very often read for pleasure. My Mom was a librarian and she would suggest books for me to read for enjoyment, and would check them out again so I could keep them and not pay overdue fines. That was about as much of a rebel as Mom was. Me on the other hand, well...we will just leave it at that. Until next time.
Okay, so I have really not done a darn thing with this blog. I have been very slack to do this and I do not know why, it is such a great way to reach out and give information and ideas to so many people. I am starting Christmas vacation today so I will have 2 weeks to try and get some posts on here.
I have been fortunate enough to take part in a few different groups that have a way of helping people to see the best in themselves. I try to be kind to people that are some times unkind and I could easily give up, but I am going to continue to be kind and hope that if I continue to be kind it will have a positve impact.
The moral to the story is just be nice. That means always. Not just when the person is right there, but when the person is not. Maybe even more so. It is so hurtful to speak of some one when they are not present. It changes other peoples opinion of someone. Have you ever formed an opinion of some one based on another person words. Is that not how manerisism are passed on from one person to another? Just by being around some one , you pick up on things they say and do. The sayings like our parents and grandparents used that we use, just because that was what we heard. Words. The tounge is a might rudder, it can steer you on or off course. The tounge has the power to help, or to hurt. To calm or to anger, to create happyness or sadness. If your tounge is not speeking kindness, you may want to chew on it until you have something nice to say, or don't say anything at all.
You would think that with the colder weather and less day light I would post more in here, but I have really been slacking. I hope to do a better job posting in here.
When I was a kid I loved the winter, I would always go ice skating , sledding, skiing, it didn't bother me a bit to be out. Now I would rather not get cold. I think it comes with age. I do miss the outdoor activities, especially skating. We would skate on my Grandma and Grandpas pond, now some years it doesn't even get good ice. They say we may get a storm this weekend...so maybe sledding would be fun. We shall see
Well, this is it, the eve of another school year. I think back to when I was a kid in school and how excited I would get on this day, tomorrow getting to see all my friends, and getting to wear that new outfit on the first day. Even as an adult there is still a level of excitement, not about the new clothes, but about getting to see my friends and the children. The kids are always excited on the first day. I will be happy to see them. I hope to be a good role model for them. I hope for another great year.
Small town life
The fact that we are almost to the end of summer is almost hard to believe, but it is so. The fresh vegetables are coming in out of the gardens and the fresh fruit is always fantastic. I love the summer time. I think it is because the days are longer and the sun light is nice. I love having my windows open and listening to all the sound of the out doors. In the early morning at the cottage I love the call of the Loon, and at home I hear the singing of the crickets. The fresh air that comes in because we can have the windows open is awesome. I love living in a community that is quite at night, with little to no road noise and no noise like a city. Hoping to catch a meteor shower tonight.
The mornings are a new start, a fresh perspective. I like mornings. When I am driving the bus, I talk to God before I pick up the kids. One morning I was doing just that and a thought came into my mind and the thought was "when you can't see your way, get on your knees and close your eyes", and I thought how interesting and through out the day that thought kept crossing my mind. Later that afternoon I had an appointment , with a friend and we talked for about a half an hour, then the conversation shifted to God. She said "and speaking about that, sometimes I just can't seem to see"...and I could hardly believe what she was saying. So I stopped her right there and and told her, if you can't seem to see , get on your knees and close your eyes.
God is good, he gives you the words you need when you need them.
I think this may be my favorite
oil of all time and I love the fact that it has grown in my garden for years. The smell is just ahhh mazing ! I love to share a fresh sprig bouquet with people. If you have not tried this fantastic oil, I would highly recommend it, and plant some in your garden.
Be the change
If there is someone in your life that means the world to you and that relationship is off course for some reason, put aside your differences and make it right. Life is short and there are only so many days that we get to share. No one is perfect and we all need the grace of God. I know I am thankful for it everyday. I get it, that we just do not understand why some people do the things they do. I get it that we may not always agree on choices people make. Ultimately they will answer for their choices. God gives us all free will. He knows the outcome of our choices, good and bad. He tries to guide us in the right direction. It is our choices that takes us on the path we walk, good and bad. Love the people God gave you. He will want them back one day.
Today I am recovering from vacation, you know the feeling, when you get home, get everything carried in, taken care of and sit down, and think about all you did, and enjoyed. The feeling of, geesh, that was alot of work. I am very lucky because almost everything is already at our cottage. I am also very lucky that a few years ago we got a new washing machine, I mean what an up grade, all automatic, load size, temperature of water. Wow...I was so used to the wringer washer...Add all hot water, wash whites first, then towels and sheets, then colors, then darks, and by the time you got all that done the water had cooled off. On a good windy day the sheets would be dry in time for the darks to go on the line. This is a time when people had a sense of pride, for how things were done, making sure it was right. When things were built to last. Even relationships. Time was invested and shared, people were of value. Thinking back, I am very, very blessed. To have learned from people that were so hard working and of such good character, I hope I can pass it on. The value of hard work, good character and caring about people. i have great memories of this vacation, thanks to the people in my life.
So today I would like to tell you that I love the outdoors and being at the lake. I love swimming and boating. I think of all the time that I had spent with my family at our cottage and all they taught me about being a good person, caring about nature, enjoying the company of the people that God gave us. Just spending time making dinner and enjoying sitting down to the table, a time to reflect on the day with the people closest in our life. After dinner sitting, visiting, watching people fishing, or fishing our selves. Waiting for the sunset. Hoping for another beautiful day tomorrow. Always thankful.
Hi, I am Kim and I am one of the ladies that started a journey of essential oils. I very much like spending time with them and learning what they are doing with their oils. I enjoy gardening, cooking, doing crafts of all kinds. I love yard sales and antiques, I know that I get that from my Mom and Grandma. I love my God, family and friends and essential oils.
